Join us in celebrating the SoNo festival Sunday December 2nd where we will have our tasting room doors open from 11am to 7pm for a special sneak preview of our spot and tasting of our first experimental batches on the new 7 barrel system. The SoNo festival will be a day filled with chili, craft beer, and live music and 20% of all of our sales will benefit McKinley Elementary School. Beers available to taste will include Pale Ale, IPA, Kolsch, Oatmeal Stout, Belgian Strong Ale, and American Strong Ale. Patrons will be limited to 16 oz worth of tasters but growlers will be available to go.

Brewing your own beer is one of the most rewarding hobbies a beer drinker can indulge in. The heavenly scent of fresh hops being added to boiling wort while tasting the fruits of your previous batch can make you feel like a kid again. Here at Thorn Street Brewery we will remain dedicated to our roots and offer regular homebrew classes to the local community. Our professional brewers will teach you all the skills you will need to craft your perfect beer at home. From recipe design, to using the correct water for your intended style, grain and hop selection, and yeast handling, we will cover it along with techniques that will produce delicious beer time after time.

Of course, when you don’t have time to brew TSB will always have a wide selection of carefully crafted brews to sample in our tasting room or take a growler home with you. A fundamental understanding of the brewing process however will give you a new appreciation for beer even if you don’t have time to brew often. Be sure to check the events page for upcoming classes. Each class comes with a free flight and 20% off your first growler fill. Several times a year, a competition will be held open to all local home brewers to submit their beer to TSB for judging. First prize will be the opportunity to reproduce your beer on our 7 barrel system and have all proceeds donated to the local charity of your choice.
